SetMaxDisplaySize issues with relativity

Hi there,
I'm working on your latest Crop Canvas version (very impressive, btw!), and I finally have cropped images being saved properly, and where I'd like them. However, because the original images are quite large, I'm using your new class method "setMaxDisplaySize". It works peachy, save for when you do the crop... here, I set an ostensive crop size of say 200x200 pixels, but the final cropped image is 600x600!

It appears that the cropping area becomes relative to the size of the original image, not the reduced one. Am I missing some vital function call to make this work properly?

As far as I'm concerned, that is the correct behaviour. If your large image (the one you want to do the crop on) is three times large than the one you display in the cropping interface, then if you had a crop size of 200x200 then it would translate up to 600x600 because then the crop on the large image would be the same area as shown in the interface (forget dimensions for a bit, but look at what's actually being cropped).

Or am I missing your point? Smile

Yes, I think you are getting the point, but perhaps I'm not being clear in my requirements. I think what I'm hoping for is not only a cropping, but a resizing. So if someone opens a 1200x800 image (for example), the cropping tool will quote them a resulting size of 200x200, so in addition to giving you the area of the image in question, it will be resized to the quoted dimensions.

Ah, OK, I get you now!

By default the cropping class does just that - it crops. I have another class that is used for image resizing called 'Dropshadow Thumbnail Creator'. Ignore the stupid name of the thing, it's really a powerful image resizer. If you use a combination of the two of them you'll achieve your desired functionality. Just do a search on this board for crop and resize and you should come across a number of examples.
