Hi Andy,

congratulations for your scripts. They're awesome!

But I do have a pb with them Sad

I installed both Crop Canvas and Drop Shadow but it doesn't work the way it's supposed to.

Crop Canvas shows me the picture and I can select the cropping part.
However when I click on submit, the cropped picture doesn't show up.

Here's the link:
http://www.vincentcordel.com/test/test.cropinterface.php

I added my phpinfo below so that you can see what's going on.

With the drop shadow script, the image doesn't even appear.

I did change the files directory but I made sure they're well documented.

Pretty weird and frustrating...

Thank you for your help!
Vincent

Hi Vincent, and welcome to the board!

Looking at the phpinfo, my first thought is that it's something to do with either having an old version of GD or an older version of PHP. It should work for sure with PHP 4.3.0+ and GD 2+. The crop canvas class has some backwards compatibility with GD 1.6.2+, though the drop shadow class does not and will only work with version 2+. (Good news is that if you upgrade to a newer version of PHP then GD comes bundled with it.)

We can have a look at your test script to if you want to post it up? (Or you could pm it to me.)

Andy

Hi again!

thanks for your 1st reply.

The test script I used is the one you gave on your website.
As far as PHP goes, I tried it locally where I have PHP 5 and GD2 installed.

Weird, hey?

I'm really wondering what could be wrong.
I'm going to go deeper today. If you have any directions to help me find what's wrong, I'll really appreciate.

I know exactly what I want to do with your script. Now it's just a matter of making it work!!!

Ahh.. HAve to admit that I haven't tried to implement any of these scripts with PHP5. If I did, they would be updated to use the better OO support. However, I still don't have PHP5 on my machine yet! Sheesh.. I'm so lazy! Smile
